#MarchforIndia rally: nobody has the right to call our country intolerant, says Anupam Kher

Anupam Kher leads march against ‘intolerance’ protesters

Veteran actor Anupam Kher, director Madhur Bhandarkar and a few other from the film industry are set to lead ‘March for India’ on Saturday. The symbolic march will protest the voices being raised over “intolerance” in the country. The actor will be joined by a string of artistes, writers and painters for the march.

National award winning director Priyadarshan has also joined the march.

Senior actor Paresh Rawal too voiced his support for the march. Rawal tweeted, “This #MarchForIndia is an eye-opener for those who showed their intolerance & return their awards.. msg is clear- #IndiaIsTolerant.”

The ‘March for India’ started from the National Museum, Janpath in New Delhi lead to Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Kher, addressing outside the National Museum said that due to the presence of social media, no one is not dependent on any political party, we want to tell those raising voices claiming that India is intolerant, that India is a tolerant country.

Kher said, “Social media has enabled us to address people without a press conference.” Kher again reiterated that India is a secular country and on one should malign the country’s image outside the nation.

Kher added, “To all those people who say ‘India is intolerant’, we want to very tolerantly tell them that India is a tolerant country.”

Kher on Friday requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be an audience to share with him the thoughts of “millions of Indians”. “Dear PM @narendramodi Ji. Please give us time tomorrow to share with you the thoughts of millions of Indians all over the world. #IndiaIsTolerant,” the actor and BJP supporter, posted.
