Dr. Shrikant Jichkar

Dr. Shrikant Jichkar, a well respected personality, holds the record of being the most educated politician in India.

Born on September 14, 1954 and starting his career as a Medical Doctor, he had 20 post-graduate University Degrees to his credit:
– MBBS
– MD
– LL.B. with Post-graduation in International Law (LL.M.)
– Masters in Business Administration (DBM and MBA)
– B. Journ.(Journalism)

Masters in:
– Public Administration
– Sociology
– Economics
– Sanskrit
– History
– English Literature
– Philosophy
– Political Science
– Ancient Indian History, Culture, Archaeology
– Psychology

Doctor of Letters (D. Litt) in Sanskrit – the HIGHEST of any Degree in a University

He has obtained 28 GOLD MEDALS.

Between 1972 and 1990 he wrote 42 University Exams.

Guinness Book of Record lists him as the most qualified politician.

Recipient of “Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World” Award in 1983.

Limca Book of Records lists him as the most qualified person in the country.

Wrote the IPS (Indian Police Service) in 1978, passed and resigned to write the IAS (Indian Administrative Services) exam in 1980, only to pass and resign again within 4 months to contest his first general elections and became the youngest MLA in India at the age of 25.

His hobbies included farming, painting, professional photography, astrology, stage acting and he was an accomplished pilot.

He had one of the biggest personal libraries in India with 52,000 books.

He travelled all around India speaking on economic topics and giving religious discourses (he founded India’s first Sanskrit University).

Was an active Amateur radio operator and also led Indian delegations of several forums including the UNO, UNESCO.

Sadly, Dr. Jichkar was killed in a car crash on June 2, 2004. He leaves behind a legacy of respect from countless admirers, both for his personal achievements and his personal battle against cancer.
